A family who are in the diamond cutting and trading business ever since 1875, members of which were founders of world’s first Diamond Bourse, in Antwerp and later of the HRD, the Diamond High Council.

The third generation of the De Belder family, one of the best known diamantaires in Antwerp Robert de Belder was President of Antwerp Rough Diamond Traders Association. He was praised as ‘expert of the experts’ due to his expertise in solving the most intricate issues in the diamond industry.

The original Athena ® Cut

The original Athena ® Cut diamond was made possible by Matrix Diamond Technology. As a long-term partner of the De Belder family and focused on cutting of big diamonds, Matrix has provided services to Dubai based Nemesis and Graff Diamonds. In 2006, Matrix was invited to cut the huge rough (603ct) and thus created the world legend ‘Lesotho Promise’, which was later presented in Belgian EU Pavilion in 2010 Shanghai Expo as the ‘Best Piece’.
